Concrete Life is Colorful

An artwork for the art festival „Acht Tage Marzahn“ (Eight days Marzahn), in Berlin-Marzahn
6 x 100 x 90cm
acrylic and spray paint on paper

For a long time, residential settlements made from prefabricated concrete slabs have been associated with a grey and dismal living environment. Marzahn is a district with many of these buildings. The district however is anything but grey and dismal. The work „Dit Lebm inna Platte is bunt“, takes this theme as its focus. A combination of a cut-out and a painting, this work connects the graphical form of the new architecture with the landscape's painterly elements in the surrounding park.
